You’ll likely never find me leaping out of a plane at 10,000 feet, bound for earth at the mercy of a piece of nylon, or even diving into the depths of the sea, curious to find artifacts of old or even creatures I did not know existed in the shallows most humans never venture out of.
I’m not that Dare Diva.
I am, however, one who dares to believe in a promise that is bigger than any problem.
I am, however, one who believes that even though the channel of entrepreneurship, that risks can be taken that only can be fulfilled through steps of faith.
I’m a superhero in sales.
A missionary in the marketplace.
That’s me. A different sort of Dare Diva.
I am Sabrina Hayes, freshly turned 44, wife of 23 years, mom of 3 beautiful girls, an ordained minister, published author, and Chief Executive Officer of Sanctuary Girl. (Doing ‘the most’ I know, but that’s the life of a Dare Diva, right? You’ll not often find her idle.)
I created Sanctuary Girl alongside my naturally creative genius husband, Chris. Our mission was to birth a company that offered all things life, love, and truth while remaining on-trend and relevant in the world of fashion and accessories. We wanted women all over the world to not just be able to wear what inspired them, but also to be well-equipped to pass those nourishing words on to others: words of faith, words of encouragement, and words of life. Our company was designed to allow women the opportunity to participate in the sharing and sales of our products, thereby creating a unique opportunity for women to use their voice for the healing of others as well.
It’s a daring thing to speak and focus on that which brings light these days. The world is consumed with negative spaces in social media, network programming, and even in some churches, where the judgments outweigh Jesus.
We are called to be different.
We are called to go against the norm.
It’s a dare for sure because it’s non-conforming and the world
doesn’t like that which doesn’t conform.
For us, our life of entrepreneurship is not about the money, or the success, or the connections it brings. It’s about the outreach, the message, and the people we can affect through our activities. It’s about the use of creative commerce to reach those who would never be reached through the four walls of the church. It’s about daring to believe that even through our business, our voice can be louder than the world’s voice, reminding women of who they are and Whose they are.
Our ultimate goal is to plant a Sanctuary Girl retail store in almost every major city across the landscape of the United States, reaching women of all ages, sizes, colors, and backgrounds.
Our ultimate goal is to reach the inner hurt places that deny the beauty and value of a woman through our product and our messaging, one woman at a time. It’s a risky undertaking for sure, but we know that we’ve got this because God’s got us.
It’s a daring thing to go against the pervasive message of darkness with our message of light in the world we live in today. It’s daring to buck the trend of not giving in to what my social media followers say I am or need to be, but to simply walk in who I know God created me to be. It’s a daring thing to take that message and scream it out to the world.
But that’s what we are doing.
And one necklace
At a time
That’s what we will keep doing.
Isaiah 6:8 says:
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
God is looking across all realms, all industries, all communities, for those who are willing to go for Him.
Do we dare?
